- About the Client
- Bidit is a Lithuanian-focused online auction marketplace where buyers can bid on goods across categories like electronics, fashion, home items, and collectibles. Sellers list products through catalog management tools, run auctions, and handle fulfillment — all within a bilingual (Lithuanian & English) platform.
- Project Goal
- The goal was to build a full-featured, two-sided auction marketplace from the ground up — enabling real-time bidding, secure Stripe-powered payments, seller onboarding via Stripe Connect, and a scalable search experience with Meilisearch.
- Challenge
- Building a real-time auction platform presents unique challenges: ensuring bid integrity under concurrent load, implementing proxy/auto-bid logic, managing a multi-party payment flow with Stripe Connect payouts, and delivering a seamless bilingual experience. The platform also needed robust seller onboarding, product catalog management, shipping integrations with Omniva parcel machines, and a comprehensive admin panel.
- Our strategy
- We chose a modern Laravel stack — Livewire for reactive UI, Laravel Reverb with Echo for real-time bid updates, and Filament for a powerful admin panel. Search was powered by Scout with Meilisearch for instant, relevant results. Stripe and Stripe Connect handle all payment processing and seller payouts. The frontend is styled with Tailwind CSS and optimized with Vite, delivering fast load times and a polished user experience across both languages.
